Who We Are

NorthKids is the children’s ministry of NorthRoad Church, serving kids from birth through 5th grade. Programs are offered during all five service times, along with fun events throughout the year!

Our Mission

We partner with parents and intentionally invest our time, talents and resources into the next generation so they will KNOW Jesus personally as their Lord & Savior, GROW to be more like Him daily, and GO into all the world to proclaim the Gospel.

Our Values

Our NorthKids ministry is guided by values that nurture faith, inspire curiosity, and encourage every child to grow in a safe, fun, and Christ-centered environment.

What to Expect

At NorthKids, your child can expect a safe, fun, and engaging environment where they learn about God, make friends, and grow in their faith.

Our youngest NorthKids are welcomed into safe, nurturing classrooms where they are cared for, loved, and engaged through play and Bible songs. These
children are divided by milestones (i.e. crawling and walking). Non-mobile children are in one nursery. Mobile children are in another.

In our preschool ministry, we use The Gospel Project curriculum to help children experience the truth of God’s Word in ways that are meaningful and age-appropriate. Each service begins with time on the playground, giving preschoolers a chance to play and build friendships. From there, they transition into age-divided classrooms, where they explore Bible stories, participate in fun games, and build connections with caring teachers and friends. Preschoolers end their service time with a puppet show and worship, making the Bible come alive in ways that engage their hearts and imaginations. Children are placed in classrooms according to age and move up to the next room as soon as they celebrate a birthday.

In our elementary ministry, kids jump into an engaging time of worship and Bible lessons each week. Using The Gospel Project curriculum, they discover God’s Word in a way that’s fun, meaningful, and easy to understand. Through worship, Bible stories, small group time, games, and strong connections with teachers and friends, kids see how every part of Scripture points to Jesus. Over the course of three years, we journey together through the entire Bible - from Genesis to Revelation - helping children build a strong foundation of faith. Elementary kids sit at tables by grade and move up together, once a year, in August.

NorthRoad Students offer programs for 6th-12th graders. Contact Jason Fennimore, our youth pastor, for details! We also welcome 6th-12th graders as volunteers in NorthKids. Middle School students are required to serve with a parent or grown-up willing to mentor them.
